Well worth it! I find that when A Christmas Story is on TV I spend too much time wandering around the house doing other things, secure in the knowledge that it will be on again. Then I end up catching the same part of the movie over and over again and never actually see the entire movie, even if in pieces.

Everyone should own Elf. That’s just a requirement.

We are going to invest in A Christmas Story (and Elf) on DVD for next year – I swear even with the 24-hour marathon, I cannot get my family to let me watch a Christmas Story in its entirety on tv!

And apparently Jezebel is having a sports-style showdown on the worst Christmas song ever. So far, one of the songs on my list is still in the running. This worst Christmas song thing is kinda fun!

And then there’s the Swedish pronunciation sounding like Shursten,( coupled with your middle name and uttered by me means you know you’re in trouble!) And I’m in the same boat. Linda, Lin-A, Lydia,Lisa,Linneyah and when I got a store credit card my name was now Minnea. Try to get that one changed! I think I fianlly gave up the card. And of course it’s “Gerry” not Gary. In some circles we’re known as Gerry & Linda. Oy!

I tried to pick the songs that really make my ears bleed or just don’t make any sense whatsoever when it comes to spreading holiday cheer. While I don’t like “Do They Know It’s Christmas” because the song does nothing for me, the arrangements aren’t bad (which is way more than you can say for Sir Paul’s song). And Barking Dogs Jingle Bells is fun the first time, especially if it drives your own dog nuts. After that it can go.
