I have come to some decisions regarding my blog, and I’m excited! After discussing it with my husband, I’ve finally found some focus and the way forward. I’m not ready to reveal all just yet, but I do have some maintenance that I’ll be doing in preparation.
First of all, I’ve been saying for quite some time that I want to simplify and clean up my categories. I really like it when I see a really tight, small set of categories on blogs and I’d like to do the same. My goal is to get them down to about a dozen. I wasn’t sure how to do that until I read this post: Blogging Wisdom and a Fresh Start. It really got me thinking, and during that thinking I actually considered scrapping my entire blog. But fear not, my friends. My blog is staying, and it’s staying here at KirstenL4W.com. However, I am going to be going through my posts and deleting ones that don’t really fit me anymore. This would include posts that are no longer relevant, don’t showcase my best writing, and are just plain filler. Other posts may be edited in the process.
And yes, as I said above, I’m staying on WordPress. I tried the whole move-to-Blogger thing, and unless I start fresh or forget about the past 4 years of blogging, it was a huge pain in the arse. So, I’m staying put.
The rest of the changes I have in mind will be revealed as soon as I’m ready, so stay tuned!
