Today is the last day in my birthday month. Mister and I spent the weekend celebrating my birthday, starting with presents. I got exactly what I wanted and have already downloaded a few books to read. I wasn’t sure if I would miss the actual motion of physically turning the pages, but I don’t. I love that no matter how long the book is, my Kindle is always the same weight, so if I were to pick up a book as heavy as the hardcover version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, my hand won’t cramp trying to hold the book up. The lovely aqua case I got with it makes it feel like I’m reading a real book. Another bonus of the kindle is that it will help keep me from tripping over books in the bedroom (seriously, you should see my nightstand). Yay for husbands who buy their wives Kindles!
It’s a 3-day weekend due to the Memorial Day holiday, which makes my birthday weekend even better. I went out Saturday and got myself a cake and ice cream (Mister is recovering and unable to get out himself). I also stopped at Tarjay and got myself some ridiculous teal eyeliner. I hardly ever wear makeup, but I just wanted it. I might also get myself this eyeshadow, just because I love it:

On Sunday, Mister actually got out of the house, as difficult as it is for him right now, and we went out to dinner. It was just a casual dinner, nothing fancy, but he felt bad about not being able to do much for my birthday plus he was getting a bit of cabin fever, so it was nice. When we got home he laughed as Greta ran circles around me in her excitement. We watched a movie and spent some time on the computers, then off to bed.
Monday was chore day. I put on some makeup, a bit so that I could experiment without having to worry about being anywhere on time (work, I’m looking at you) and a bit just because I could. I did laundry and cleaned up a bit, and spent some time watching tv and internetting. Again, a 3-day weekend was really nice because it meant that I could have 2 whole days to relax before rushing around to get all my chores done. Every weekend should be a 3-day weekend. Oh, and thank you universe for not letting it be blazing hot. It hasn’t yet hit 100 here in Vegas (what’s up with that?) and I’m not complaining. I’m in no hurry for the searing heat to get here.
And so ends my birthday month.
