It’s been over 4 months since my last installment, but don’t think that I’ve forgotten about my On the Internet posts! This one is sure to be quite long since I’ve been lazy about posting, but here goes.
- The Oatmeal is a great website that’s been linked to by about half my friends on Facebook. Check out these great comics/educational posts: How to Use a Semicolon, 10 Words You Need to Stop Misspelling, How to Use an Apostrophe, and 6 Reasons Bacon Is Better Than True Love.
- A blogging friend of my, formerly known as Devilish Southern Belle, has a new blog at This Belle Rocks. There, she blogs about her challenges raising two teenage boys and her love of all styles of rock music. Go say hi.
- Caring for Your Introvert is an article I read years ago and mentioned in on of my earliest posts. I didn’t link to it at the time because I put it on my sidebar, but now I know the importance of linking in the actual post. Anyway, I am an introvert, and I get re-energized and refreshed by spending time by myself. People who aren’t introverts don’t understand that, but hopefully this article will help. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
- Ben Barden at Top Ten Blog Tips recently posted a list of 10 Post that Clog up Twitter. I’ve seen quite a few lists regarding what should and shouldn’t be posted on Twitter, but this is one list that I am in full agreement with. While you’re checking that out, be sure to read the guest post I wrote on 10 Tips for Personal Bloggers.
- For those who love looking for new blogs by chasing links, here’s a few for you. First, ProBlogger recently published a list of lists: 47 Lists of Bloggers to Watch in 2010. I haven’t had time to start clicking my way through that one yet, but I did spend a little time on sfgirlbybay’s Blog it Forward list. Look, I just wasted at least a day of your time. You’re welcome.
- Here in the US, it’s census time. WiseBread has some tips to avoid phony census workers.
- Miss Britt reviews the book Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert far more eloquently than I ever could. I read this book last summer and loved every last word of it, but for some reason could never write a review that I felt was good enough. Britt has done that, so read her review.
- I’ve been trying to urge my husband to sign up for Twitter. Here are some tips for those new to Twitter, and some tips on how to make any tweet worth following.
- Boston.com recently had an article about redheads. As you know, I am a redhead. And I’m getting ready to disappoint people yet again for not wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day.
I think that clears out my backlog of links to tell you all about. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get to bed to make up for that hour I’ll lose tonite. I want to go buy something pretty from the Liberty of London for Target collection for my 4th Blogiversary. BTW, I’ve been to the actual Liberty in London. Not that a Target store in Las Vegas can even come close to the experience of shopping at the real Liberty of London. But still – pretty stuff!
Happy Blogiversary to me!

I am a big fan of The Oatmeal. They touch upon a lot of my pet-peeves, such as misspelled words, etc. I am also guilty of falling behind in my posting. Just takes time, regards!
I love the grammar-related posts they have, and the other ones are just hilarious – especially the printer one!
And time, yeah, well who has enough of that these days?
I love The Oatmeal! We definitely have some similar taste :-)
I still don’t truly get Twitter. I enjoy reading blogs but Tweets… I just don’t get it. Maybe I should read some of these articles!
I like Twitter because it lets me share those random thoughts I have that I think are worth sharing, but not worth writing a whole blog post about. I also follow a local news station and often find out about breaking news that way.
Good list of links! I’m a redheaded introvert too! :)
Jennifer, glad you like the links, and yay! more people like me!
Hey thanks for the link Kirsten, apologies for not finding this sooner!
No worries Ben – thanks for stopping by, and I’ll keep reading your great tips!
