I am so not doing the princess with a tiara thing, mainly because EVERYONE seems to be doing that, and even though it might not look it, I'm really allergic to doing what everyone else does. I did finally find a veil at the craft store, I just need to finish the top of it up a bit. And I think, since I am so prone to putting my hair up, that I will just wear it in a simple bun, but with a clip. I saw some clips in the store the other day that will accomodate my hair in that way, so I just need to fine one a bit fancier and I'm all set. Once my hair is up, I won't have to worry about whether it's windy or not.

I did no veil, I had a little vintage tierra (sp). It was my something borrowed part. I betcha you could find something like it in a vintage store. You can get ones that are aged looking with rhinestones that have patina. (Which dulls the rhinestones out a bit, so they are not bright and blingy).

Ya, best not to fight the hair on your wedding day. Get a hairdresser to show you a couple of "styles" (and work with your hair texture)and if you like them you could go that route or au natural.

Oh yeah, my sister lives in FL and I grew up on the east coast (New England) so I know all about humidity. Makes hair difficult but great for the skin.

I've just got to find some time to go shopping to see what appeals to me. I also want to go to the craft store to see what sort of wedding veil stuff they have and if any of it appeals. But well over a hundred dollars at the bridal shop for a veil definitely did NOT appeal!

Sorry...we Florida girls battle humidity with an iron fist!!!! I would suggest fooling around with a few styles pre-wedding, I think you'll come up with something you like. Buy a few different types of clips and such and experiment......look online for wedding hairstyles.

Well, this is Vegas, and it's dry. Humid is when it gets over 10% humidity, so yeah. Very dry. I don't like my hair straight. I've straightened it before and not liked the way it looks on me, so I figure why bother. My everyday stuff lets the curl do what it wants, so I'm thinking that with my MOH's curling iron to help the stubborn pieces along. I just got to find something to hold it back with that's nicer than the everyday without being totally bling. And hairspray! Good idea. I normally don't bother but for this occasion, it might be a good investment. Thanks!

As far as the veil....I think it is more common now to go with no veil at all. The last wedding I went to, the bride did not wear a veil. Bottom line, you are the bride, so you get to decide :)

As for your hair.....hmmmmmm....you need to take into consideration the elements...is it an indoor wedding???? If it is going to be humid or dry that day. My advice is to keep it simple. Straightening is pretty easy. I also have unruly hair. I bought a flat iron awhile back and love it. But if it is humid, it gets a little frustrating. It sounds like your hair likes to be curly, as does mine. Maybe buy some products to accentuate the curly. I kept mine curly and put it up with some curls hanging down on the side......and plastered on the hairspray!!!
