Cugat - Thanks for visiting! I didn't know Dolly had a cover of Stairway, I'll have to look for it. And Apocolyptica is a string group, so they do everything in the classical style. I'll have to look for Fade to Bluegrass also.

Excellent list. Interesting that you went with Me First doing Stairway to Heaven rather than the Dolly Parton version.

I don't know Apocalyptica but there is a bluegrass Metallica CD called Fade to Bluegrass which is pretty awesome. (It's similar to Hayseed Dixie but more awesome.)

Cugat

Jon - I totally agree with you that covers can be better than the original. I'll have to check out your Finetune station when I'm not at work (I turned the volume off at my work computer so as to surf more inconspicuously!)

Nobody - Richard Cheese is also playing Vegas on 12/29 and 12/31, if you are crazy enough to come to Vegas during New Years.

N - glad I could inspire you! That's exactly why I love doing these mixes.

Nice! Alient Ant Farm doing "Smooth Criminal" would have been a good one too!

I hadn't heard of Richard Cheese before, I googled him and found a couple youtube vids of him. Good stuff. If I was going to Vegas a couple weeks later I could have caught his 11/11 show.

Sometimes the covers are just better than the originals, aren't they?

This sort of reminded me of a finetune station that I put together that had over 100 cover songs (my link goes directly to it). If you had an opinion on it, I'd love to hear it.
