Best Boyfriend Ever
After waiting over 3 hours yesterday for Roadside Assistance to come tow my car (something they said could not be done without me there, causing me to miss over 3 hours of work for which I do not get paid), my day was not going well. I was worn out and really wanted to hit the “reset” button. But, I went to work, fumed over the morning’s events, and got some work done. Later in the day I texted Boyfriend with a request.
Me: Can we get drunk and watch the Borat moviefilm tonite?
Him: Yes if we have pizza 4 dinner
We were supposed to start the South Beach Diet yesterday since we both have a few pounds to lose. Yesterday turned out to be a bad, bad day to start any kind of diet. So, I picked up some pizza, soda, and chocolate on the way home from work, and we mixed some adult beverages, ate pizza, and watched the Borat movie. Then I went to bed by 9:30 and slept through the night. I could have used more sleep, but I had to get up and go to work.
My car is still at Ford Country, and so far there is no word from my BFF Bill and his Sidekick Steve. Once they fix my car I really, really want to never see them or talk to them again. And if their techs did their jobs correctly, I won’t have to. I will say this: I will no longer be a Ford customer, and if this crap keeps happening, that may happen sooner rather than later. The extended warranty that we are considering may pay for itself in repairs, but won’t pay for the missed work, the diet sabotage, and the general grief and aggravation. We are still considering our options regarding the car.

As I said in my blog when you told me…that’s a keeper.

Sounds like you should just write that whole day off, aside from the joy of Borat + pizza + your honey.
I just started Phase 1 again TODAY! We should help each other through this!!!
You should try the No S Diet. I lost 20 pounds in a few months and have kept it off for kept it off for a year and a half.
“No snacks, no sweets, no seconds, except sometimes on days that start with S.”
That’s it. Granted, it’s not for everyone, but it was right for me.
Natalia - definitely a keeper!
Pollyhyper - yes, we’ll watch out for each other. It’s always better with support.
Jordon - Interesting concept. But I need my snacks, I just have to keep them healthy. SB practically demands snacks such as cheese sticks, celery and cheese, heart-healthy nuts, etc. Makes it much easier to get thru the day.
Ugh. I don’t think there is a reliable Ford dealer in this town. Wait…they are all shady everywhere but particularly here. I had a Mustang and had to have a HUGE fight with Gaudin. Idiots.
I know how you feel about the diet thing. Ever since I had my baby, I’ve been trying to watch what I eat. So what happens today???? People in the office get a huge box of gourmet cupcakes for my birthday. UGH!!!
by the way, if you need a good cupcake place, go to the Cupcakery. DROOL!!!!
Pookie - I was thinking of going to Gaudin if Ford Country didn’t get their shit together. At least there’s consistent service all over town, right?
I’m going to pretend I didn’t even see the word “Cupcakery.”
Well, you MIGHT get better service over there, but I wouldn’t count on it. I bought my Mustang and two (yes TWO) days later the electrical stuff went nuts and I had to take it in where they kept it for a week. They gave me a crap rental car and told me I had to PAY for gas and tax. I pitched a HUGE fit about how my car was TWO days old and I better not have to pay for anything otherwise they can keep the car and give my old one back. That worked.
Your stuff is just bad. Get rid of it and no kidding…get a foreign car. I actually wrecked my Mustang but ended up with a Honda and I LOOOOVE IT!!! The service has been awesome too.
I had a Toyota years ago and loved it. Drove it to over 200,000 miles. If I end up getting a new car, a Toyota it will be.
Got Boyfriend’s truck smogged yesterday, and the guy inspecting the smog check station said that Ford cars do not agree with the desert climate. Ford trucks are a whole ‘nother matter - BF’s passed smog with flying colors, and it’s a ‘93 with 161,000 miles on it.
