I Made the Switch
I did it - I made the switch to Beta. There will be some changes coming. I’m not clever enough with code to make my new template Beta compliant (as in, take the old template and be able to use widgets with it) so I will be making changes. I will no longer have the beautiful template you all have come to know and love, but it will be saved for future reference. I will be changing to a new template that will allow me to use the wonderful widgets, which will allow me to be better organized. I’ll also be going thru the 150 or so posts I have and tagging them all so I can dump Technorati. No offense for those that love it, but I only got it for the labeling abilities, and now that I can do that directly in Blogger, the other one goes.
In any case, be on the lookout for changes within the next few days. I made the switch, but to finish things up to get them the way I want will take time. But first, I have some errands to run, sleep to get since I didn’t really get any last night, and plans tonite. Gah, being unemployed sure keeps me busy!

oooh i can’t wait!!! will you be using a new title photo….like perhaps, one I made for you????
I can’t wait to see your changes…change is good. keeps it interesting. i love my blog so much more now…

p.s. hope you’re healing well!
You are definitely braver than me. I want the new widgets, but I don’t want to lose the customization. I’m afraid I’ll lose all the neat stuff I added to my template in the sidebar. That’s correct, isn’t it? I do love the appearance of your blog though. It’s so artful. By the way, did you do a wall for Foxxfyrre’s graffiti blog wall yet? You should, with your eye for graphic design, it would be something.
I made the switch as well and I really don’t notice that much of a difference. Maybe I don’t it?
I’ll stay tuned for the changes… The labeling part took me forever when I switched, but I guess it’s a good thing now that it’s done.
Macoosh - yes, I’m going to use your photo, it’s better than the one made from the pics I took.
Q-flash - you won’t lose customization per se, but when you start you’ll have to add all that stuff back in. Best to make a backup of your code before you switch, so you can copy and paste it in as you add wigdets. And the current (old) template wasn’t my design, just an awesome one I found online. But thanks for the compliment!
Nurse M - when you switch it keeps your template in classic, you have to choose to customize it before you will have widget usability. And like I said to q-flash, you’ll have to re-add all your content into widgets, so it takes some time.
Parlancheq - I can’t wait to get everything labeled properly.
yay! I think it looks great! and commenting is so much easier!!!
the color scheme is lovely and very you. nicely done.
i never went back and labeled everything…i guess i didn’t care very much. maybe i’ll do that someday…
good job! rest that hand!!!

p.s. any news on a new job? are you waiting till you return from nh?
Wow! You’re redesign looks sensational, too. How did you get a photo in your banner, if you don’t mind my asking?
Gem- when you make the switch, you’ll be able to use the widgets to edit certain sections of your page. For the photo, I have it hosted at Flickr, then I chose the whole href option instead of the linking directly (you’ll see when you try to choose a size for the photo). Post the code for that where it says blog description. I had to change the size a bit to have it look the way I wanted but it was really easy.
